Main Research directions
1. Innovative utilization of forage sorghum germplasm resources and breeding of new varieties.
2. Genetic breeding and demonstration of new brewing sorghum varieties.
Overview of Teaching and Research
I have been engaged in genetic breeding of forage sorghum, suitable for mechanized cultivation and brewing sorghum for a long time. And presided over two agricultural science and technology innovation research projects of Shanxi Agricultural University, organic dry farming agriculture research and development special project and Shanxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences breeding project. He has participated in more than 30 projects including National 863 Plan sub-project, National Science and Technology Support Project of Ministry of Science and Technology, key research and development sub-project of Ministry of Science and Technology, National Sorghum Industrial Technology System Project of Ministry of Agriculture during the 12th Five-Year Plan Period, Millet Sorghum Industrial Technology System Project during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period, special sorghum breeding for brewing and operation subsidy of Shanxi Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Key Team, etc. He has published more than 20 papers in national academic journals. 20 forage sorghum varieties, 5 mechanized sorghum varieties, 5 brewed sorghum varieties, 7 forage sorghum of green cut type, 2 forage sorghum of silage type and 1 biomass energy sorghum were involved in the examination and registration. Participate in the formulation of local standards 1 item. Participated in 1 invention patent, 7 practical patents. He has won 3 second prize of Science and Technology Progress in Shanxi Province, 1 third prize, and 1 second prize of rural technology contracting in Shanxi Province.
